How much does a trip to Bali cost?
Bali has the widest accommodation spread of any destination in the region, so travel style changes the total more than it does elsewhere. Daily costs for a backpacker and a comfort traveller can differ by a factor of six on the same island.
Is Bali cheaper than Thailand?
On the ground Bali is usually slightly cheaper than Thailand at the mid-range, mostly on accommodation. Airfare is the reverse: Bali needs a connection from most origins while Bangkok often does not, so the total frequently comes out higher.
What is the Bali tourist levy?
A one-off fee paid by foreign visitors on arrival, separate from the visa-on-arrival fee. Both appear as separate lines in the breakdown above.
